Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School hosted a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Vocational Technical Roundtable with Congressman Joseph Kennedy and representatives from Southeastern Regional, Bristol County Agricultural High School, Diman Voc Tech, Attleboro Public Schools, Montachusett Regional, Cape Cod Tech, Old Colony, Newton Public Schools, Worcester Tech High, Tri-County and Bristol-Plymouth.

Using both a high tech computer software and computerized cutting machinery, Cabinetmaking students at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School designed, built and decorated free standing, wooden domestic violence ribbons for Help Us Get Safe (H.U.G.S.) Sharon, an organization “committed to making our community safer by educating the public regarding violence in relationships and by providing assistance to victims and families affected by domestic violence.”

Design and Visual Communication (DVC) Honor Society inductees, families, teachers/support staff guests and administration celebrated an evening of excellence at their First Annual DVC Banquet on April 10, 2013, the last event at the high school’s old Colonial Room.

Two Southeastern students, Kyle Cronin of Stoughton and Bridgette Hayward of East Bridgewater, will be competing at the Skills USA National Championship competition in Kansas City this June, after receiving gold medals at the state competition on April 27 - 28. Another student, Taylor Mackie of Mansfield, will be representing Massachusetts as a state officer.

“It’s not enough to master your trade in a high tech world. Effective communication skills are more important than ever before”, notes Plumbing instructor Jarrod Lussier, who is focusing on written and verbal communication skills with all his sophomore students.

Courtney Celidonio of Brockton, a Southeastern senior majoring in culinary arts, is working at The Cibo Matto Café, an Italian restaurant in Mansfield. Courtney is working as a chef’s assistant, and she was hired by restaurant owner Peter Kuplast.  Mr. Kuplast has hired college students to work in Co-op positions in previous years, but this is the first year he has worked with a Southeastern student.

Hard work, study and practical application of skills have paid off for 13 seniors at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School as they became state certified, licensed cosmetologists.

Southeastern Voc-Tech High School will be hosting a Green Schools Summit on April 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., an annual environmental educational conference that takes place each year in Massachusetts.

It may have been Southeastern Regional Vocation Technical High School drama troupe’s first excursion to the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild (METG) High School Drama Festival, but it certainly won’t be the last.

“All rise. Honorable Judge Foster presiding”. Thus begins Youth Court at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, a voluntary program offering teens the opportunity to be judged by their peers.

Aidan Delgadillo gave the wrestling program at Southeastern a shot in the arm on Wednesday night by winning the 113-pound title at the Division 2 State Championships at Marshfield High.

Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School’s SkillsUSA Officer Team students pledged to purchase four bunk beds for a total of $600, for the Be Like Brit orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti, as their community service project.

Five Southeastern students will be participating in the South Shore Regional Science Fair at Bridgewater State University on March 9, after receiving top honors in two different science fairs at Southeastern.

Freshmen and sophomores at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School listened sympathetically and respectfully to a different kind of assembly on January 18, 2013 – their first assembly in the new gymnasium.

Imagine an eager group of high school actors having to face an impatient audience on opening night on their own. The students haven’t been at rehearsals and the drama teacher is missing tonight.

Southeastern Regional’s Cheerleading squad and their Varsity Coach Lisa Maiden have been coming up with the themes and ideas for Spirit Week for the past 15 years. This year’s October 22-26 celebration continued the tradition by raising school spirit, funding for the Class of 2013, and the goal of making a $5,000 donation to the year’s chosen charity, the Breast Cancer Foundation. 

The word is out, and students at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School’s History Scholars Travel Program are looking forward to both domestic and international travel opportunities.
