Using both a high tech computer software and computerized cutting machinery, Cabinetmaking students at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School designed, built and decorated free standing, wooden domestic violence ribbons for Help Us Get Safe (H.U.G.S.) Sharon, an organization “committed to making our community safer by educating the public regarding violence in relationships and by providing assistance to victims and families affected by domestic violence.”

Two Southeastern students, Kyle Cronin of Stoughton and Bridgette Hayward of East Bridgewater, will be competing at the Skills USA National Championship competition in Kansas City this June, after receiving gold medals at the state competition on April 27 - 28. Another student, Taylor Mackie of Mansfield, will be representing Massachusetts as a state officer.

Courtney Celidonio of Brockton, a Southeastern senior majoring in culinary arts, is working at The Cibo Matto Café, an Italian restaurant in Mansfield. Courtney is working as a chef’s assistant, and she was hired by restaurant owner Peter Kuplast.  Mr. Kuplast has hired college students to work in Co-op positions in previous years, but this is the first year he has worked with a Southeastern student.

Southeastern Regional’s Cheerleading squad and their Varsity Coach Lisa Maiden have been coming up with the themes and ideas for Spirit Week for the past 15 years. This year’s October 22-26 celebration continued the tradition by raising school spirit, funding for the Class of 2013, and the goal of making a $5,000 donation to the year’s chosen charity, the Breast Cancer Foundation.
