Early Childhood Education
|
The Early Education and Care Freshmen Program focuses on
Observation and Child Growth and Development. The curriculum is designed to
address an individual’s growth and development in the areas of intelligence
(cognitive), physical (fine and gross motor skills) and social-emotional
development; and self-help skills for meeting the needs of children from
birth to seven years of age. Theorists (such as Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson,
Vygotsky, Gardner, and Maslow) will be investigated and discussed. Our
program supports student learning through hands-on experiences and knowledge

materials; promoting safety, nutrition and health in the early education

to Guidance. The curriculum is designed to address goals of effective
guidance, guidance techniques; behavioral problems, causes, and strategies;
purposes, guidelines, and enforcement of classroom rules; and the importance

|
Students will demonstrate knowledge of child growth and
development by working with children, and assessing their needs and abilities
within a public school setting. Students will create and implement lesson

Frameworks in the areas of The Arts (i.e. Music and Dramatic Play) Students
will utilize many approaches to curriculum. Differentiated instruction is an
effective way to offer individually, linguistically, and culturally
