Introduction to Graphic Communications
|
In the offset press and bindery section of Graphic
Communications students will be instructed in Shop Orientation, The basic
theory of offset printing Equipment Safety, chemical safety and introduction

Typography/ Screen Printing
|
Through this course students, will begin working in a Mac
computer lab using such programs as In Design , Photoshop and Illustrator.
Students will concentrate on the principles of Typography learning that type
makes or breaks your design. Students will be introduced into basic screen
printing while creating a design to print on a T-shirt. Also students will be
introduced to Digital file prep & output (2-D), (2-E), (2-G), (2-M)

Intro to Press Operations

program students will be introduced to the basic press systems operations,
printing terminology, maintenance, proper adjustments and quality control

Emphasis on this course will be cost awareness related to
the business. Learning to create job tickets and billing related to their
jobs they be creating. Students will take the 10-Hour OSHA General course and
receive their 10 hour card. Students will also be creating a 2- color shirt Design
(1-A), (1-B), (1-C), (1-D), (6-B).

ready, quality control during a press run and clean-up. Printing processes
will be covered. Binding and finishing operations to be practiced will
include paper cutting, padding, shrink wrapping, stitching, drilling,
