     Students learn the fundamentals of Carpentry while building components from wood, plastics and Masonite. During this industrial setting, modern joinery techniques are used to create everything from furniture, cabinets, and dressers using different gluing methods, stains, finish carpentry work either in a home or office, to creating a foundation for a home. By use of hands on instruction, students learn fundamental skills and craftsmanship of wood finishing.

     Upon graduation students are prepared to enter the work world within the construction industry, finish carpentry or foundation construction. Those continuing their education might pursue an associates or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design, Visual Design, Interior Design, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship or Accounting.

Students have the opportunity to earn an OSHA Construction certification.
