The Construction Technology program introduces the student to building materials and supplies used in construction with a strong emphasis on safety while using hand and power tools in the shop and on the job site. Students will be taught blueprint reading, framing, installation of windows, doors, stairs, exterior and interior finish, roofing as well as commercial carpentry. The carpentry trade offers numerous career opportunities, from constructing concrete forms to creating fine cabinetry. Carpenters build beautiful structures that last for centuries and have one of the highest job satisfaction rates of any career in the construction industry. Carpenters have opportunities to work in residential, commercial, and industrial construction such as: Surveying, Site Work, Concrete Forms, Framing, Scaffold-Erection, Roofing, Siding, Drywall, Suspended Ceilings, Exterior Finish, Interior Finish, and Retail Sales. Apprentice carpenters can go on to become journeyman or master carpenters, estimators, architects, construction managers, and contractors.

General Education Requirements
All students must complete certain general education requirements in addition to courses in their major career field. The school requires these courses because it believes that all graduates – whatever their career interests – must possess the following essential academic skills:
