The Automotive industry has undergone phenomenal growth in the past four decades. A widely diversified range of employment opportunities await automotive technology students seeking a challenging and rewarding career. Opportunities in networking and multiplexing, service repair, engineering, parts, programming, diagnostics, performance modification, racing development, and many more are now available to motivated and educated students. Well trained entry-level automotive technicians have a distinct advantage over novice entry-level technicians. The shop and related classroom curriculum give Automotive students the unique advantage of foundational knowledge as well as practical experience. Our Automotive program is also NATEF certified.
Students have the opportunity to earn a General Industry OSHA certification.
Career Major Requirements
Students must meet all requirements of the career major and all additional graduation requirements as described in the Student Handbook.
General Education Requirements
All students must complete certain general education requirements in addition to courses in their major career field. The school requires these courses because it believes that all graduates – whatever their career interests – must possess the following essential academic skills:
· Ability to write clearly and effectively
· Ability to listen and speak clearly and effectively
· Ability to think critically
· Ability to think quantitatively
· Ability to think creatively
· Ability to locate and process information
