Dear Parents,
In another week, we’ll be through the first month of the new year and more than halfway through the school year. In that time I’ve been actively involved with...
- Our first Parent Council meeting. Our next one is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22, at 5:30 p.m.
- Three Friday morning coffee hours.
- Sophomore parent information meeting.
- Planning for a freshman parent information meeting.
- First steps in the establishment of a school store that will sell both student and teacher works.
- After-school tutorial program for students taking MCAS.
- Initial planning for an Expectations Night for parents to be held before the beginning of the 2012 – 2013 school year.
- Searching for some corporate sponsorship to fund special initiatives.
- Creating additions to the packet given to incoming freshmen, so that parents will not only know the position of Parent Liaison exists but will also know in what ways I can help them.
- The possibility of having a “fun” algebra class for parents on Saturdays – no homework, quizzes, or tests – just learning about algebra in a way that will help parents to help their children.
- Last, but most assuredly not least, I’ve talked to many, many parents and found the answers to their questions and concerns.
