Senior Student Assignments
Term 1: Students must complete a college essay OR a cover letter applying for a Co-op position via My Access. In the students’ cover letter, they should include what position they are applying for as well as what experience, skills, and extra-curricular activities they have been involved in that would make them the best candidate for the position. Students must obtain a My Access Score of a 5 or above. Due Date: October 29th to Vocational Teacher.
Term 2: Students must complete an essay on where they see themselves in 5 years in order to be successful OR a letter to an Incoming Freshmen explaining if they had four years to do it all over again, what would they do differently. Students must obtain a My Access Score of a 5 or above. Due Date: January 4th to Vocational Teacher.
Term 3: Students must work on completing their senior project and begin their PowerPoint Presentation. Students are encouraged to have the PowerPoint peer edited for spelling and grammar. Due Date: March 12th to Vocational Teacher.
Term 4: Students must organize their portfolios, finalize their senior projects and present on their topic. Students must also make all corrections to their PowerPoint and place a copy in their portfolios. Due Date: April 29th to Vocational Teacher.
Portfolio Collection: Vocational Teachers should review portfolios each cycle and set deadlines for progress. A final portfolio grade should count as part of the students final shop/related grade and should be scored using the attached rubric. All senior portfolios will be collected on April 29, 2013.
