There are many sides to Matthew Small of Foxboro, a 2012 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School. One represents his life as a student athlete.

Small was honored at his school's Senior Awards Ceremony with a total of three scholarships. The first is the Ryan Orcutt Memorial Scholarship, named for a former Southeastern plumbing student and member of the football team. Small was one of four students awarded this scholarship and as described in the evening's program, "Great care is taken in choosing students to honor Ryan's memory."

When Small's name was read as one of the recipients, the cafeteria erupted with thunderous applause.

Small was also called forward to receive one of the Grainger Scholarships that are awarded to students based on merit and outstanding athletic ability.
