Randly Desir Wins Trade Show Award
Randly Desir, a Grade 12 Plumbing student from Brockton, has been recognized as a Vocational-Technical All-Star by the PHCC (Plumbing-Heating Cooling Contractors) of Massachusetts. Randly received the award on March 4, after being nominated by his teacher, Jarrod Lussier. Both Randly and Mr. Lussier attended the ceremony at the association’s annual trade show, which was also attended by other all-star students from Massachusetts and their teachers.
“Randly has shown exceptional initiative and work ethic. He really enjoys going above and beyond what he is supposed to do, and he always seeks perfection,” Mr. Lussier said.
Randly said he wanted to work in plumbing because he likes working with plumbing materials and “building things from scratch.” He will receive a $500 “toolship” scholarship from the PHCC for the recognition. After graduation, Randly plans to study business marketing or mechanical engineering at a four-year college. He currently has a 3.6 grade point average and has been accepted by University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth and Regis College.
The PHCC of MA is the Massachusetts chapter of the oldest trade association in the construction industry—PHCC, established in 1883. It represents the interests of Massachusetts plumbing, heating and cooling contractors.
