Last week (October 29 – Nov 2) The New England Laborers Training Trust Fund provided a one-week Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program to Southeastern Regional. A combined group of Carpentry, Electricity, Metal Fabrication, and Plumbing students participated in the 5-day training led by trainer Thomas Lemon, and Program Coordinator Jeff Cathcart. The goal of this program is to provide information and skills that will lead to permanent careers in the transportation/highway, and construction industries.
Students were engaged in activities pertaining to Work Zone Safety, Line & Grade, Hands On Concrete, Construction Math and Applying to a Massachusetts Apprenticeship Program. Each participant was also awarded, upon successful completion, a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification as well as a 30-Hour Training Certificate that is valid for applying to the New England Laborers Training Union.
