SOUTHEASTERN DECA MEMBERS WILL BE COMPETING FOR THEIR NATIONAL COMPETITION SPOTS
Thirty-one students from Southeastern competed against 11 other schools in our district, which included 719 competing students from the towns: Franklin, Wrentham, Foxborough, Stoughton, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Oliver Ames, Taunton, Bristol-Plymouth, and North Dighton. Eighteen students from Southeastern were able to place and receive trophies and medallions. Ten students will be moving onto DECA States at the Boston Marriott Copley Place located at 110 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02116.
On the district level, students are showcasing their skills and knowledge in their selected career pathways. DECA’s competitive events require the students to put their knowledge into action in project-based activities that will prepare students for college and career readiness.
Students attending the State Conference will spend three days, February 27–29th, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place where they will compete for their spot at the DECA International Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee, from April 29th through May 2nd, 2020.

DECA is a career and technical student organization that began in 1946 and was known as the Distributive Education Clubs of America. The organization currently has 200,000+ members in its High School Division that includes 3,500 schools and 15,000+ members in its Collegiate Division that includes 275 colleges.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in schools all around the globe. DECA members put their knowledge into action through challenging project-based activities that require creative solutions with practical outcomes.
