Students and staff come together to give back to the following towns:  Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxboro, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater

Southeastern Regional VT High School, Easton, MA (February 2020) – Southeastern is no stranger to community outreach. From hosting Christmas parties for families in need, to student art galleries, a lot is done! Last October, Principal, Mrs. Weckesser launched a community project to give each town in the district something back for they do all they do to support Southeastern.

All staff members participated in the community service project by making lasagnas for families in need, while others worked on constructing wooden benches. Superintendent, Mr. Lopes, and Carpentry teacher, Mrs. McNally, equally contributed to the project in their own ways. Mrs. McNally developed a plan for the teachers to cut and fabricate the benches while Mr. Lopes worked on having the frames donated. Moreover, all the wood used on the benches was previously donated to the school.

As a final act, the vocational supervisors, Mr. Foley and Mrs. Kobey, contacted the Councils of Aging and the Public Works Departments to coordinate the delivery of the benches. They along with seven students (Leanna Newton—Grade 9—Brockton, Jose A. Rodrigues—Grade 11—Brockton, Nathan Viega—Grade 11—Brockton, Kayla Dancy—Grade 9—Brockton, Oliver Boisvert—Grade 10—Brockton, Kyle Cummings—Grade 11—Easton, David Larkin—Grade 11—Foxborough) delivered the benches to each of the nine towns in the district.

The Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School District consists of a four-year public high school and a post-secondary technical institute. The high school offers 20 career majors to students from Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Foxboro, Mansfield, Norton, Sharon, Stoughton, and West Bridgewater.
