Southeastern Regional Seniors via Zoom with Claude Gatebuke

Facing History Civil Rights seniors worked with Upstander Project's faculty members, Mishy Lesser, Ed.D. and Jarah Botello, on expanding our understanding of the complexities of genocide.  We welcomed guest speaker Claude Gatebuke via zoom as he discussed with the students his experiences as a survivor of the Rwandan Genocide.  Some of the lessons for humanity that were shared were highlighting the importance of respect for one another, consideration, thinking about how we might feel if we were in someone else's shoes, and being proactive in ensuring that all humans' rights are being respected.

Thank you Upstander Project for this incredible opportunity to learn together and ask questions.
