Southeastern wishes to recognize senior Isabella Burke, who has committed to playing softball at the collegiate level next year.

On Thursday, Jan. 4, Burke was recognized at the Southeastern Performing Arts Center amongst family, friends and Southeastern community members for her achievement.

In the fall of 2024, Burke will attend Bentley University in Waltham, to pursue softball at the collegiate level. She received an athletic scholarship from the university to compete at the Division 2 level, and she also received an academic scholarship.

During the event, Athletic Director Daniel Tripp, head varsity volleyball coach Eric Belton and Shockwaves Owner Kim Popieniek gave speeches about Burke's accomplishments and a slideshow of Burke's softball journey was displayed.

Burke, an East Bridgewater native, has competed in softball from a very young age. She is Southeastern's softball team's shortstop and lead off hitter. Burke is a member of the New England Shockwaves club and was a member of Southeastern's league championship team in 2022. In addition to her long softball career, Burke also competes for the girls' volleyball team, as a league all-star.

On top of her elite contributions on the field, Burke is in the criminal justice program at Southeastern.

"Congratulations to Bella!", said Director Tripp. "We are so proud of all Bella has accomplished in her time at Southeastern and we look forward to see her succeed as a Falcon!"
