This week, our Math department engaged in two professional development opportunities working collaboratively to utilize high quality instructional materials and create student centered lessons. They worked to “thin slice” multi-step, complex problems, and also engaged in Math Labs for teacher-led observations. Staff members observed one another teaching the same lesson and debriefed on instructional strategies, high leverage curricular materials, and student engagement. Thank you to our Math Department for working hard to ensure Math is relevant and challenges our students to think critically.
