Bringing with her a strong understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Dr. Carols Perez was recently named as the new Executive Director of Talent and Community Affairs at the Southeastern Regional School District.
Dr. Perez previously served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility for Easton Public Schools.
“What drew me to Southeastern was its commitment to fostering a community where every student and staff member can experience a true sense of belonging,” Dr. Perez said. “Walking across campus and seeing individuals from all walks of life come together as one has been truly inspiring.”
Earlier in her career, Dr. Perez served for four years as Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity Director for Hingham Public Schools, working to provide a culturally inclusive school environment for all students.
Dr. Perez graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Arts in government and applied legal studies. She also earned a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
“Holding this role is deeply meaningful to me because it unites my passion for people with my commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels valued and supported,” Dr. Perez said about her new position at Southeastern. “I believe that when we honor each person’s story, culture, and contribution, we strengthen our entire community. For me, this work is about people. It’s about ensuring that belonging is something every student, family, and staff member experiences every day at Southeastern.”
Superintendent Holly McClanan welcomed Executive Director Perez to the Southeastern community and congratulated her on the new role.
“Her strong experience gives her a broad-based perspective on how to support our faculty, staff, and students — and to strengthen the systems that help us prepare young people for careers and college,” said Superintendent McClanan.
