Sirley Cruz's artwork, titled "Interface"

Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is proud to announce that artwork by senior Sirley Cruz is currently on display at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton through March 15.

Sirley was selected as the museum's 2025 Emerging Artist in Residence (EAIR), a summer residency program that supports Brockton-area youth artists enrolled in secondary school. The emerging artist in residence spends time within the museum while working on a new body of work, experiencing craft materials, and receiving mentorship and professional programming from the museum staff.

Sirley completed her residency during the summer of 2025, producing several original works, including “Love Me, Love Me Not” and “The Versatility of Uniqueness.”

“My experience with EAIR helped me not only with my art block, but it also helped me learn to be more disciplined," Sirley said. "Instead of procrastinating with my art or leaving it as is, even if I’m not satisfied, I put my full effort into these pieces.  I was dedicated to these pieces, and each has a personal meaning for me. I like to create for others, but for once, my pieces represent the biggest parts of me.”

Sirley's expression is defined by a refusal to be limited and showcases the uniqueness and individuality of her artistic practice.

A senior in Southeastern's Advertising & Design program, Sirley has received instruction in photography, videography, graphic design, mural painting, and more.

“I never limit myself within my art," she said. "I’ve tried multiple mediums like digital and traditional processes, photography, videography, tattooing, clothing design, sewing, glass making, and there are many more I intend to learn. My experience helped me learn that I am bound by nothing.”

Following graduation, Sirley plans to continue her education at an art-focused college in Massachusetts, where she intends to pursue a degree in film.
